Attend an Assessment Day*
After reviewing by the recruitment team a successful application will lead to an invitation to come to an Assessment Day, we run assessment days in London, West Midlands and in the North and you can book yourself onto one at this stage. These days are essential for you to be able to demonstrate your passion for working with children and China, and allow us to see your personality. We are not looking for the loudest person but people with great initiative, leadership and teamwork skills.
This session will consist of lots of tasks both in groups and individually to see if you have what it takes to become part of the British Summer Camps team!
Group Interview *
(Management Candidates Only)
After a successful staff assessment day we may decide that you have management potential and invite you to a group interview. If this is the case you will be given a few dates when we will be conducting Group Interviews in Central London. We try and choose venues that are central to make it as easy as possible for all candidates.
The group interview will be approximately 2 hours long and will be with the, Managing Director Operations Director, Programme Director (China) and UK & International Recruitment Manager. During this time will be a personal interview to show us why you want to go to China and run one of our sites! This gives us the perfect opportunity to meet you and get a feel for your skill and passion for a job with us, whilst seeing how you can present yourself and work with others!
Dates & times will be advised if/when invited
If successful then we will place you and issue you with a contract to work for us, it is vital that you get this signed and send back all the relevant paperwork as quickly as possible to ensure a smooth employment.
At this stage we will also need to arrange to get a Disclosure and Baring Service (DBS) check completed on you if you haven't already got one. This is a pre-requisite of working for us and your contract could be withdrawn if you fail to complete the check or if the check returns with unsatisfactory results.
After this we will need to process a VISA for you which is really important and will affect you travelling to China if not completed appropriately. To assist with this process we will arrange dates and times with our VISA partner in London to get this done face to face and right first time as any issues/delays dealt with in time for you to fly out!
To be able to fly out with British Summer Camps to China you must also have two satisfactory references, we will contact the referees that you provide when applying. Like the DBS check, if these references are not satisfactory or we don't receive them then the offer of a position with us may be withdrawn.
So you have been placed! Check out what is required Pre-Camp to ensure you are best prepared for the adventures which lay ahead!
VISA Meeting & Organisation
We need to make sure that your VISA application is completed correctly. We will have slots at our visa partners offices in London for you to come down and get your photo and application approved for submission! If you are unable to come down then there is a £50 handling fee for us to do this for you.
Dates & times will be advised on successful placement
