THE CAMP PROGRAM
Being a trainer is such an important role at camp! You will be working alongside other trainers ensuring that each and every child is having a great time. The great thing about being a Trainer is that you get to have so much fun as you can join in the activities as well! Every day will be different and you will have a brilliant relationship with the children. Each day will be very busy as you will be with the children from when they wake up to when they are going to bed! But don’t worry you do not have to sleep in the same room as the campers.
Minimum Age - 18
Our Management positions are extremely important to the smooth running of camp. We have a range of different Management positions available*.
Please click here to find out the different positions available.
*Some roles are only available at our larger sites, Camp Managers at smaller sites may hold all the roles and responsibilities of each position
Minimum Age - 21
British Summer Camps provide Chinese children with typically British Activities which children in Britain would participate in at our camps in England.
The activities we offer are great fun and you are encouraged to participate as well. Some of our activities include; football, baking, cricket, zorbing, arts and crafts, archery, fencing and we have a water slide!
We will have a centralised training day in London which is compulsory for everyone to attend. This will be a weekend about 2 weeks before you head out to China. This will give you all the information you need on how to run activities and what to expect.
Once you arrive in China, you will receive a warm welcome from our incredible staff team and shortly after you will begin your training in China with our partners Summerhill Education.
You have the weekends off! Unlike other summer camps, you have Saturday and Sunday off to rest, explore and hang out with your new friends.
There are loads of things to do and visit in China which can be done on a budget! Our Regional Welfare Manager will also arrange budget trips for you to go on as well.
Check out our locations page to find out some more information about where the camps are located and things to do locally!
ACCOMMODATION & FOOD
With our new collaboration with Adventure China our volunteers will be provided with food and accommodation 7 days a week whilst under contract with us. This means we will also feed you on the weekend!
You will be accommodated onsite at the school throughout your placement, the only exception to this is if the school does not allow staff to stay onsite - therefore we will accommodate you nearby.
British Summer Camps offers outstanding experiences to Chinese children by delivering great activities in English whilst enhancing British Culture where possible. To achieve this we need participants to be motivated to work long but fun hours! Participants will have 2 hours a day to themselves including the rest after lunch.
You will be expected to wake up with the children and your day ends once the children are in bed.
The hours are long, but the experience is invaluable!
